Dead Men Don't Skate - CC Trace

A snowy Maine getaway. An innkeeper who keeps Pine Haven running. And a skater who turns up dead before the festival has even begun.

Retired hockey pro Sergei Bronsikov spent the week body-checking Pine Haven's patience-flirting, bragging, and gambling like he was still in the big leagues. But when he is found face-down in the snow, the handsome ranger Jack's young cousin, Patrick, gets slapped with the blame.

With Patrick's future on thin ice, Blueberry Hill Innkeeper Carolina Teal laces up for sleuth duty. Her loyal german shepherd, Kahlua, sniffs out clues faster than a puck on a breakaway, and Goldie Finch "assists" with enough enthusiasm to earn herself a penalty.

And Pine Haven's lineup of suspects? Pro-skater Erik's temper could melt the rink, Benny's bookkeeping belongs in the penalty box, and Sergei's already-engaged girlfriend, Alexa, is skating circles around the truth.

Carolina and Jack need to score answers fast-before the sheriff makes a move that could ruin Patrick's future for good.
