Father Aury María Azélio Brunetti was born on February 21, 1931, in Bebedouro, São Paulo. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of São Paulo, author of several books, and a renowned musician, serving as an organist and composer, with several awards for his artistic production
At the age of 10, he entered the Minor Seminary of the Claretian Fathers, completing Philosophy. He was invited to finish his studies in Rome, at the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he obtained the "Licentiatus in Sacra Theologia" in 1956
On July 16, 1965, he married Maria Aparecida Décourt, soloist soprano of the Paróquia Immaculado Coração de Maria, in São Paulo. Together, they had a life dedicated to music and the community. After 45 years of marriage, with the death of Maria Aparecida, Father Aury felt the call to the priesthood. At the age of 80, he was ordained a priest on May 15, 2011, becoming the first permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of São Paulo to be ordained a priest
In addition to his pastoral work, Father Aury contributed important translations, such as the work "Scientific Pedagogy: The Discovery of the Child" by Maria Montessori. He is also the author of books such as “Preparation Course for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharistic Holy Communion” and “Preparation Course for Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist”
