Cuenta atrás es un trayecto al revés que va desde la luz hasta la sombra, desde la corola hasta la semilla. A pesar de que los poemas abordan temas diversos, existe en ellos una implícita unidad que los guía, un tono constante que nos recuerda que la muerte siempre está ahí, que cuesta demasiado (miles de años) aceptarla, pero que, por otra parte, la necesitamos para dar sentido a los recuerdos, al amor y a la búsqueda de algo que termine trascendiéndonos. Que nos dé miedo morir significa que estamos vivos, y que queramos vivir a toda costa no es más que la constatación de que la cuenta atrás es imparable. De ella nace este libro, siempre con la voluntad de ser claro, que, en poesía, es la mejor manera de ser respetuoso con el lector.
