Dr. Nancy O'Connor is an American clinical psychologist and nurse with a distinguished career in supporting individuals through grief processes. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she worked for 15 years in the nursing field before earning her bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1971, followed by a master's in 1973 and a PhD in Developmental Psychology in 1975 from the University of Oregon. She has been a professor at the University of Oregon and the University of Arizona, and has worked as a consultant in various hospices, hospitals, and organizations both in the United States and abroad.

Among her most notable works is "Let Them Go with Love: Accepting Grief" (1994), a book that addresses the grieving process and provides tools to cope with it. Additionally, she is the author of "How to Grow Up When You're Grown Up" and "How to Talk to Your Doctor", among others. Her publications focus on the self-help and psychology genre, providing practical guidance for personal growth and emotional management.
