John Lithgow, born on October 19, 1945 in Rochester, New York, is a distinguished American actor with a prolific career in theater, film, and television. Son of an actress and a theatrical producer and director, Lithgow showed an interest in acting from an early age. In 1973, he won his first Tony Award for his performance in "The Changing Room"

In addition to his acting career, Lithgow has ventured into children's literature, writing several books aimed at children.
