Synopsis "Brier Island Adventure Series/Beneath The Surge"

When Spencer Patrick performs a simple 'act of kindness' towards a complete stranger down on the village docks, he is thrust headlong into a series of adventures that may easily cost him his life. What starts as a recovery mission to find a lost wedding ring, soon escalates into a dangerous battle of wits against a vicious madman who has come to Brier Island with an agenda all his own. seeking to recover an ill-gotten fortune that was supposedly stolen from him, this man known worldwide as Captain Carver (i.e. Mister Biggs) will stop at nothing to get what he wants, even to the point of eliminating all those who get in his way. Surrounded by a band of misfits that he has brought with him from France, Captain Carver sets up his base of operations in an abandoned Orphanage in a remote area on the backside of Brier island that is supposedly haunted by 'the screaming hosts of lost orphans'. When Spencer Patrick decides that he has no choice but to go back there against all of his mother's constant warnings, all hell breaks loose. Spencer soon realizes that finding the ring that was entrusted to his safekeeping has now led him into the very center of a dark plot to destroy everything and everyone on Brier Island. Drawing strength from words of wisdom previously spoken from his deceased father and counseled daily by his elderly neighbor, the boy attempts to rise above the dire circumstances placed on him and stand up for what he truly believes in---justice. Will he succeed? Can he ever trust again going out on the treacherous waters that surround the island. Was it really one of the whales that killed his father? Time will tell!
