Synopsis "Brendan and the Dark One"

There is something very bad in the forest. Brendan needs a crystal to complete the special book, but it belongs to the evil creature Crom Cuiat. What will Brendan do to defeat the dark one? Based on the animated film, THE SECRET OF KELLS, this beginning reader is a fun way to practice sight words. Each page features images from the film paired with simple sentences for young readers. A pronunciation guide and word list enhance the educational value. About THE SECRET OF KELLS: The making of Ireland's greatest treasure, the Book of Kells, is brought to young audiences in a fantasy retelling based on Irish legends. Brendan is a young boy living in an isolated monastery community. When a refugee of Viking attacks joins them, Brendan is introduced to the art of illuminated manuscripts and conscripted in a quest to make the greatest book ever.
