Synopsis "Bioprocess Technology of Hydroxycitric Acid and their Pharmacology"

Overall, an attempt has been made to establish a fermentation process to produce Hydroxycitric acid (HCA) using the isolated microorganism. The isolates were screened on selective media such as Sperbers medium and HiCrome Bacillus agar. The isolates that had creamy colonies on Sperbers medium was subjected to biochemical tests and found to be catalase positive, gram positive, rod shape and utilized mannitol. Further to cross check the identity of microorganism, the isolates were inoculated on the HiCrome Bacillus agar, the luxuriant growth of yellow mucoid colony was observed. To meet the market demands of continuous supply of HCA, there is a strong need to produce this molecule in large scale with different fermentation modes. Thus, the continuous mode of fermentation has to be established. The present investigation based on the molecular simulation studies reveal The HCA nutraceutical molecule is not only for obesity but also acts like a prominent analogue for tumor control management. Towards this, HCA needs to be evaluated as a potential drug molecule for treating cancer through the laboratory experiments.
