Die Nymphe durchlief vier verschiedene Stadien, bevor sie das Erwachsenenstadium erreichte. Alle Nymphenstadien waren flügellos, von brauner bis dunkelschwarzer Farbe und sehr aktiv. Die erwachsenen Tiere waren komplett schwarz und glänzend. Die Blattlaus A. craccivora auf Bockshornklee trat erstmals im Januar auf und blieb bis Februar aktiv, wobei die Populationsspitze in der letzten Januarwoche lag. Die Bio-Pestizide Azadirachtin 0,15 EC 0,0006%, Neemöl 0,3% und Knoblauchknollenextrakt 3% erwiesen sich bei der Unterdrückung der Blattlauspopulation als am wirksamsten. Die Insektizide Flonicamid 0,015% und Acephat + Imidacloprid 0,052% erwiesen sich als am wirksamsten bei der Unterdrückung der Blattlauspopulation, gefolgt von Thiamethoxam 0,01%.
