Die Stadt Barcelona liegt etwa 80 km sd-sdstlich.Der nrdliche Teil des Landkreis, das Alt Bergued (deutsch: Obere Bergued), liegt in der Hochgebirgsregion der Pyrenen. Die Serra del Cad (2430 m) bildet eine natrliche Grenze zum Hochtal der Cerdanya
