Hajime Isayama, born in 1986 in Ōyama, Japan, is one of the most influential mangakas of his generation. Trained in manga design, he made his professional debut in 2009 with Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan), a work that catapulted him to fame after winning the Magazine Grand Prix in 2006. Inspired by titles like Kingdom Hearts and The Mist, he developed an intense and visually striking narrative style.
Attack on Titan became a global phenomenon, with over 140 million copies sold and a successful animated adaptation. Awarded with prizes such as the Kōdansha Manga Shō (2011) and the Harvey Award (2021), Isayama has also published other works like Heart Break One and supervised spin-offs. After concluding the series in 2021, he continues to work from his hometown, maintaining a reserved profile while exploring new projects.
