Synopsis "Art of War"

"The art of war is of vital importance to the State. It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected." There is a reason why five-star generals and Fortune 500 CEO's alike have consulted this classic book on the planning and conduct of military operations. Written in China more than 2000 years ago, The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military treatise attributed to Sun Tzu, a high-ranking military general, strategist and tactician. The Art of War remains one of the most quoted and reference how-to books every written. From General Douglas MacArthur and Chairman Mao Zedong, to football coach Bill Belichick and Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, time and again, The Art of War has provided wisdom on competition from 2,500 years ago. It's thirteen chapters lay out guidance that centuries of readers have read and applied to their lives, struggles, and work. It covers all of the steps of battle, be it in the office or across continents.

Sun Tzu (in simplified Chinese: 孙子, in traditional Chinese: 孫子, in pinyin: Sūnzǐ) was a general, military strategist, and philosopher from ancient China. The name by which we know him is actually an honorary title meaning "Master Sun". His birth name was Sun Wu and outside his family, he was known by his courtesy name Changqing.

Traditionally, he is considered the author of The Art of War, an influential treatise on military strategy. Sun Tzu has had a significant impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture, both for writing The Art of War and for being a legendary historical figure.
