Synopsis "Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians Tpb Boxed Set: Books 1-6"

Now a New York Times Bestselling series!Secret cults, strange talents, magical lenses -- and one unusual family at the center of it all. All six action-packed volumes of #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson's middle grade fantasy adventure have been collected together for the first time in this boxed set. Alcatraz Smedry and his family and friends must battle a cult of evil Librarians bent on taking over the world through misinformation and suppressing the truth. Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians -- On his thirteenth birthday, foster child Alcatraz Smedry gets a bag of sand in the mail--his only inheritance from his father and mother. It is quickly stolen by the cult of Evil Librarians. Alcatraz must stop them, using the only weapon he has: an incredible talent for breaking things. The Scriveners Bones -- In his second skirmish against the Evil Librarians who rule the world, Alcatraz and his ragtag crew of freedom fighters track Grandpa Smedry to the ancient and mysterious Library of Alexandria--guarded by undead Librarians. Can Alcatraz and his friends rescue Grandpa Smedry, or will their souls be forced to haunt the Library forever? The Knights of Crystallia -- Alcatraz Smedry has made it to the Free Kingdoms at last. Unfortunately, so have the Evil Librarians--including his mother! Now Alcatraz has to find a traitor among the Knights of Crystallia, make up with his estranged father, and save one of the last bastions of the Free Kingdoms from the Evil Librarians. The Shattered Lens -- Alcatraz Smedry is up against a whole army of Evil Librarians with only his friend Bastille, a few pairs of glasses, and an unlimited supply of exploding teddy bears to help him. This time, even Alcatraz's extraordinary talent for breaking things may not be enough to defeat the army of Evil Librarians and their giant librarian robots. The Dark Talent -- Alcatraz Smedry has successfully defeated the army of Evil Librarians and saved the kingdom of Mokia. Too bad he managed to break the Smedry Talents in the process. Even worse, his father is trying to enact a scheme that could ruin the world, and his friend, Bastille, is in a coma. Without his Talent to draw upon, can Alcatraz figure out a way to save Bastille and defeat the Evil Librarians once and for all? Bastille vs. the Evil Librarians -- As a Knight of Crystallia, Bastille swore to protect the Smedry clan from Evil Librarians. But she arrived too late as Alcatraz got strapped to an altar of outdated encyclopedias to be sacrificed to the dark gods, and Alcatraz's father took his place. With Alcatraz a blubbering mess, Bastille steps up to do what needs to be done.

Brandon Sanderson (Lincoln, Nebraska, December 19, 1975) is an American writer of fantasy and science fiction literature. He is best known for the fictional universe of Cosmere, in which most of his fantasy novels are set, including the series Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive. Outside of Cosmere, he has written several series for young adults and children, such as The Reckoners, the Skyward series, and the Alcatraz series. He is also known for completing Robert Jordan's high fantasy series The Wheel of Time. Sanderson has created several fantasy graphic novels, such as White Sand and Dark One.

He created Sanderson's Laws of Magic and popularized the idea of "hard magic" and "soft magic" systems. In 2008, Sanderson started a podcast with writer Dan Wells and cartoonist Howard Tayler called Writing Excuses, which discusses topics on genre writing and webcomics. In 2016, the American media company DMG Entertainment acquired the rights to all of Sanderson's Cosmere universe, but since then the rights have reverted back to Sanderson. Sanderson's Kickstarter campaign in March 2022 became the most successful in history, with 185,341 backers pledging 41,754,153 dollars.

Born in Nebraska, he is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and currently resides in Provo (Utah), with his wife Emily whom he married on July 7, 2006. He earned a master's degree in Creative Writing in 2005 at Brigham Young University, where he was roommates with Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings. He has been nominated twice for the John W. Campbell Award.
