Mrz 1319 erteilte Papst Johannes XXII. die Zustimmung zur Grndung des portugiesischen Christusorden. Mit der Bulle legte der Papst fest, das alle Gter des von ihm verbotenen Templerordens an den neuen Orden bertragen wurde und der Christusorden gem den Regeln des Ritterordens von Calatrava zu leben habe. Dem Abt des Zisterzienserklosters von Alcobaa wurde die Jurisdiktion bertragen, weiterhin erhielt er das Recht zur Abnahme des Treueids fr den Hochmeister des Christusorden. Als Ordenshaus bestimmt Johannes XXII. die Festung von Castro Marim im Sdwesten Portugals. Schlielich sieht die Bulle vor, dass bei einer Vakanz der Ordensfhrung eine Person mit militrischem und religisem Hintergrund, ein Eingeweihter des neuen Ordens, zum Meister zu ernennen ist.
