Synopsis "A River and the Ways of Men: A Waymon Hill Adventure"

Just a few years ago Waymon Hill had it all. A popular member of the Louisiana State University's history faculty, he was married to a beautiful woman from a socially prominent family and was the father of two adorable little girls. Then he screwed up and lost it all. Divorced, forbidden to communicate with his ex-wife and daughters, banished from Louisiana and barred from his teaching career, Waymon landed in Arkansas, where he improbably has developed a burgeoning business as a canoe outfitter and wilderness guide on the Ozarks' Buffalo National River. But storm clouds are on the horizon. His ex-wife has a boyfriend who wants to marry her, but she cannot commit. Sensing her reluctance arises from some residual feelings she still harbors for Hill, the boyfriend convinces her to book a canoe trip for her, the daughters, and himself with Hill, so that she can see for herself that he is still a loser. I'm betting that after you read this book you'll agree that what occurs on this vacation from hell is beyond imagination.
