Vinka Jackson
Vinka Jackson is a mom, writer, and psychologist from the University of Chile. She was born in Santiago in 1968. She lives between two worlds: Chile and the United States, her home since 1996. In both, she works as a psychologist, counselor, and educator on ethics of care and child sexual abuse. In Chile, she collaborates with Corporación Paicabi, Fundación para la Confianza, PREVIF, and Corporación ONG Raíces, all organizations working on the prevention and intervention of child sexual abuse. A disciple of writer Pía Barros and poet Isabel Larraín, she has contributed to the publications Microcuentos problemáticos y febriles (1995), Escritura desplazada: Literatura de chilenas en la diáspora (2009), ¡BASTA! 100 women against gender violence (2011). She writes regularly for El Post.cl. Agua fresca en los espejos, her first book, was honored as an unpublished work by the National Council for Culture and the Arts in 2006.
