Rubin Hurricane Carter
Rubin "Hurricane" Carter (1937-2014) was an American professional boxer whose career was cut short after being wrongfully convicted of a triple murder in 1966. He spent nearly 20 years in prison before his conviction was overturned in 1985 due to irregularities in his trial. His story inspired numerous works, including Bob Dylan's song Hurricane and the movie The Hurricane (1999), starring Denzel Washington.

In 1974, during his imprisonment, he published The Sixteenth Round: From Number 1 Contender to Number 45472, an autobiography that recounts his life and fight for justice. This book, framed in the genre of memoirs and testimonial literature, became a symbol of resistance against racism and judicial corruption.
