Ricardo Flores
Ricardo Flores (Buenos Aires, 1965) is an Argentine architect who co-founded the Flores & Prats studio in Barcelona in 1998 alongside Eva Prats. Graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and with a master's in Urban Planning from the ETSAB, his career includes collaborations with prominent architects such as Enric Miralles and Manuel de Solà-Morales. Flores & Prats is known for integrating academic research and constructive practice, tackling projects of rehabilitation, social housing, and public spaces with community involvement
Among his most recognized works are the Museum of Mills in Palma de Mallorca, the Microsoft Campus in Milan, and the Sala Beckett in Barcelona. His approach has been documented in publications such as Handmade Thought: The Architecture of Flores & Prats (2014) and Drawing without Erasing and Other Essays (2023). The studio has been awarded prizes such as the Grand Award in Architecture from the Royal Academy of Arts in London (2009) and the AD Architects of the Year Award (2018), and has been nominated multiple times for the Mies van der Rohe Award.
