Pedro Cateriano (Lima, 1958) is a Peruvian lawyer and politician specialized in Constitutional Law. Graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, he pursued doctoral studies at the José Ortega y Gasset Research Institute, affiliated with the Complutense University of Madrid. He has been a professor of Constitutional Law and Political Culture at the University of Lima, where he also served as director of International Affairs and External Cooperation. In his political career, he was elected deputy in 1990 for the Movimiento Libertad, served as Deputy Minister of Justice between 2001 and 2002, Minister of Defense from 2012 to 2015, and President of the Council of Ministers on two occasions: 2015-2016 and 2020
As an author, he has published works focused on politics and recent history of Peru. Among his titles are "El caso García" (2017), a chronicle of the corruption investigations during the first government of Alan García; "Sin anestesia. Una década de lucha democrática" (2022), which collects his testimony on Peruvian politics over the last decade; and "Vargas Llosa. Su otra gran pasión" (2025), a political biography of Nobel laureate Mario Vargas Llosa.
