Jean Humbert
Jean Humbert (1792-1851) was a French scholar, correspondent of the Institute of France, and professor of Arabic language at the Geneva Academy. He is recognized for his work "Greek and Roman Mythology", a manual that gathers the main legends and myths of the Greco-Roman tradition. In this book, Humbert conducted a systematic review of primary sources, extracting from ancient authors, especially poets, the fables scattered in their writings and classifying them methodically to form a complete and well-ordered treatise on mythology.
