James Hamblin
James Hamblin is an American doctor specialized in preventive medicine, writer, and professor at Yale University. For years, he was the health editor at The Atlantic magazine, where he gained notoriety for his accessible and provocative approach to wellness topics. His most recognized work is Clean: The New Science of Skin and the Beauty of Doing Less (2020), translated into Spanish as Si nuestra piel hablara (2022). This book was selected as one of the best of the year by NPR, Vanity Fair, and the Smithsonian.

In Si nuestra piel hablara, Hamblin explores the skin microbiome and questions modern hygiene practices, proposing a simpler and more respectful routine for the skin. To delve deeper into the subject, he conducted a personal experiment in which he stopped showering for five years, observing how his skin adapted and maintained balance without chemicals. In addition to this book, he is the author of If Our Bodies Could Talk (2016), a guide on the human body and health. Hamblin has established himself as an influential voice in contemporary scientific dissemination.
