Hernán del Solar
Hernán del Solar Aspillaga (Santiago, September 19, 1901 – same place, January 22, 1985) was a Chilean critic, essayist, poet, novelist, and creator of children's stories. He was awarded the National Prize for Literature in 1968.
A writer of children's stories and for adults, critic, and anthologist. Initially, like many, he was a poet. He also did translations, as he had solid knowledge of French, English, Italian, and Portuguese. He translated more than 80 books.
