Claudia Boldt
Claudia Boldt grew up in Germany and soon moved to the United States, studied design, illustration, and screenplay writing, and graduated from the Glasgow School of Art, Kingston University, University College London, and the University of California in Los Angeles. She has never tired of learning.
Her specialty is writing and illustrating entertaining comedies, featuring animal characters who strive to be better. But she also works on book illustrations for publishers and covers for books and games. Her work has been exhibited internationally.
She received the Booktrust award for Best Emerging Illustrator. She also conducts workshops which she greatly enjoys because being surrounded by people is inspiring to her. Especially if the people want to learn, play, and experiment.
She founded and ran the children's magazine The Loop (2012-2015) along with Eleanor Meredith and together they wrote “Think and Create Like an Artist” which won the Academy of British Cover Design Awards, as well as the British Book Design and Production Award for the best commercial children's title for all ages, published by Kókinos.
Her favorite animals to draw are dachshunds and she loves horseback riding.
