Alberto Laiseca
Alberto Laiseca was born in Rosario on February 11, 1941, and died on December 22, 2016, in Buenos Aires. Among novels, short stories, poetry, and essays, he published more than twenty books. He is the author of Los sorias -considered one of the best Argentine novels-, Su turno para morir (1976), Aventuras de un novelista atonal (1982), La hija de Kheops (1989), La mujer en la muralla (1990), El jardín de las máquinas parlantes (1993), El gusano máximo de la vida misma (1999) and the posthumous volume Hybris (2023), which includes Camilo Aldao, La puerta del viento and Sindicalia; the book of poetry Poemas chinos (1987) and the short stories Matando enanos a garrotazos (1982) and Por favor, ¡plágienme! (1991). He received the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Boris Vian Award, a diploma of merit from the Konex Foundation, and the Martín Fierro Award for Best Cultural Program on Cable for Cuentos de terror.
