His work includes novels, short stories, and essays that explore the complexities of modern society.

Among his most notable works are "Infinite Jest" (1996), a postmodern novel considered by Time magazine as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to 2006; "Brief Interviews with Hideous Men" (1999), a collection of stories; and "A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again" (1997), a compilation of essays.
