¿Qué harías si sospecharas que tu hijo es un asesino? ¿Hasta dónde llegarías para defenderlo? Cuando Ada amanece ese domingo y se da cuenta de que sus hijos no están en la casa le parece lo más normal. Le habían dicho que dormirían en casa de amigos. Prepara el mate y enciende el televisor. La brutal noticia termina de despertarla: mataron a un adolescente a la salida del boliche. El cuerpo tapado con una tela blanca ocupa casi toda la pantalla. Piensa en la madre de la víctima, apaga el aparato y llora. La noche anterior Magda se preparó para salir a bailar, ilusionada por el encuentro con Damián. La previa, un lugar repleto de menores excitados, música, amigos, alcohol. Todo puede salirse de control. El relato de Pulsión es de una brutal vigencia: la violencia entre jóvenes, que sigue patrones reiterativos de odio y machismo. La vida de un chico se trunca de pronto, en una sucesión inesperada de instantes fatales, pero en lo profundo de la historia de esta desgracia se aloja otra: la de una madre enfrentada a sus propias contradicciones.

Gabriela Exilart was born in Mar del Plata. She is a writer, lawyer, and professor at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Mar del Plata (UNMDP). She published the novels Storms of the Past, Rebirth from the Rubble, Jet Black Strokes, With the Heart to the South, For the Spilled Blood, Napalpí. Caught in the Wind, In the Sands of Gijón, Secrets at Dawn, The Whisper of Women, and Drive. She received the Alfonsina Award (2018), Universum Donna 2nd Edition (2019), Sea Wolf for Sports and Culture (2019), and a First Mention for her story "The Red Bicycle" (2020). In October 2022, she was declared "Outstanding Neighbor" by the Municipality of General Pueyrredón for her contribution to culture. She coordinates workshops on creative writing and novel writing.
