Synopsis "My Dress-Up Darling 12"

A loner boy and a flashy girl find common ground via cosplay in this sweet and spicy rom-com!

Although the impromptu horror-game group cosplay came with a whole bunch of twists, from JuJu’s surprise costume to Akira’s rowdy outburst, one big revelation failed to make the highlight reel: Marin never told Wakana how she feels about him! Now with Winter Comiket and a complicated new cosplay on the horizon, the right moment seems even more elusive! But as Christmas cheer fills the air, could there be a more perfect time for a heartfelt confession of love?!

Shinichi Fukuda is a Japanese mangaka known for his work My Dress-Up Darling (Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi o Suru), a romantic comedy that explores the world of cosplay. The series was published from January 2018 to March 2025 in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine, compiling a total of 14 volumes. In 2020, the work received the Electronic Comics Prize from Comic Seymour and, by 2023, had surpassed 10 million copies in circulation. In 2022, it was adapted into an anime by CloverWorks studio, broadening its popularity internationally

Before this success, Fukuda published other works such as Shibaraku (2009–2011) and Momoiro Meloik (2012–2016). His style is characterized by combining elements of comedy, romance, and slice of life, with a focus on strong female characters and themes related to otaku culture. Despite his growing notoriety, Fukuda maintains a low profile, not revealing personal details or appearing in public events, which adds an air of mystery to his figure.
