Michael McDowell was a true monster of literature. Endowed with boundless creativity, he wrote thousands of pages, with a capacity on the level of a Balzac or a Dumas. Like them, he chose to tell stories that would reach the entire world. And, like them, he chose the most popular medium of dissemination: the serial or serialized novel, in the case of the nineteenth-century masters; the paperback in the case of McDowell. Besides being a novelist, Michael McDowell was an acclaimed screenwriter.
