Gorillaz es una banda virtual británica creada en 1998 por el músico Damon Albarn y el artista Jamie Hewlett. La banda se compone de cuatro personajes animados: 2-D (vocalista), Murdoc Niccals (bajista), Noodle (guitarrista) y Russel Hobbs (baterista). Aunque los integrantes son ficticios, la música es real y abarca una amplia variedad de géneros como rock alternativo, hip hop, electrónica y pop experimental.

El proyecto nació como una crítica a la artificialidad de la industria musical, mezclando animación, narrativa visual y música en una propuesta única. Su álbum debut, Gorillaz (2001), fue un éxito comercial e incluyó temas como "Clint Eastwood" y "19-2000". Luego vinieron álbumes como Demon Days (2005), considerado uno de sus mejores trabajos, con canciones como "Feel Good Inc." y "DARE".

A lo largo de su trayectoria, Gorillaz ha colaborado con numerosos artistas internacionales, manteniendo siempre una estética visual distintiva y futurista.
