Journalists from the University of Chile, have been working together for two decades. Insunza holds a Master of Arts in Political Journalism (Columbia University) and Ortega has a Master's in Public Opinion (UDP).

They are co-authors of Bachelet. The Unofficial Story (2005), Legionaries of Christ in Chile. God, Money, and Power (2008) and The Cardinal's Archives. Real Cases (2011, 2013). Additionally, Insunza co-authored Back to 17. Memories of a Generation Under Dictatorship (2013) and Ortega authored The Untold Story of Our Olive Green Years (2001).

In 2004, they founded an investigative journalism unit at Diego Portales University and until 2021 were the directors and editors of the Tal Cual book series, leading political, economic, criminal, and cultural journalism projects.

Today, they run the journalistic production company A Day in the Life, where they conduct investigations for non-fiction and fiction products in written, audiovisual, and digital formats. They also edit the book series of the same name, in partnership with Catalonia publishing house.

In 2023, they were researchers, screenwriters, and executive producers of the documentary Top Secret: Operation Chile, which reconstructs the story told by the declassified documents of the United States about Chile.

The project, developed in conjunction with María Wood Productions and Chilevisión, was among the ten nominees in the Image category at the Gabo Award 2024 of the Gabriel García Márquez Foundation and won the Journalism of Excellence Award from the Alberto Hurtado University in documentary journalism.
