Anna Lavatelli (Cameri, Italy, 1953) is a distinguished Italian writer specialized in children's and young adult literature. With a degree in Philosophy from the University of Milan, she began her career as a literature teacher in secondary education before fully dedicating herself to writing in 1986. Her work is characterized by addressing everyday life themes, exploring both joyful moments and complex situations, with the goal of bringing children and young people closer to the vast world of reading. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with various specialized magazines and has actively participated in reading animation activities in schools and libraries.

Among her most notable works are "El violín de Auschwitz" (2009), "Todos eran hijos míos" (2007), and "Cuéntame un cuento" (2008). These publications, framed in the genre of children's and young adult literature, have been recognized for their depth and sensitivity in addressing topics relevant to the young audience. In 2005, Lavatelli was awarded the prestigious Andersen Prize of Italy, which recognizes excellence in children's and young adult literature.
