Esta publicación es un trabajo conjunto entre investigadores y estudiantes que consiste en una selección de noventa y cuatro obras de arquitectura construidas en las comunas de Concepción, Hualpén, San Pedro de la Paz y Chiguayante desde el año 1850 hasta 2017.
Junto a las fichas de los proyectos, la Guía incluye textos que contextualizan cada periodo temporal o profundizan determinados temas como los conjuntos habitacionales, la tipología placa torre, etcétera, de la mano de especialista como Horacio Torrent, Verónica Esparza, Valentina Ortega, Stephane Franck, David Caralt, Leonel Pérez y Luís Darmendrail, además de un escrito testimonial del arquitecto Cristián Prado.
La publicación recibió el apoyo y patrocinio del Colegio de Arquitectos Nacional y Zonal, el Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales, el Servicio Nacional de Turismo, y Docomomo Chile.
