Detectives de objetos, o el arte de descubrir la historia oculta de los objetos y de explorar la margen secreta de los espacios que habitamos. «Es posible –dice Shaday Larios– que nuestros objetos hablen por nosotros cuando ya no estemos aquí. O cuando nos neguemos a hablar, o por muchas otras ausencias». Desde el observatorio de este libro, instrumento de precisión donde los haya, se buscan las grietas de los hechos en tres espacios urbanos, a través de las cuales pensar su presente. La ciudad aquí aparece como un tejido fascinante de huellas y objetos, testimonios y gestos, en un ejercicio, se podría decir, de arqueología detectivesca. Así, en Primer álbum, entramos en el Barrio Viejo (Barri Vell) de Girona, en donde todo se borra y desaparece en una gentrificación sin marcha atrás. Pero siempre hay quien conserva objetos que ofrecen una resistencia. En esta ocasión, la carpintería Armand Lladó, sostenida por cuatro generaciones desde principios del siglo XX hasta julio de 2019. Su costumbre de conservar todas las facturas de los clientes para los que han trabajado desde hace 75 años permitió reconstruir el barrio. En Cuaderno de campo se rasga el velo de una memoria latente bajo el actual Jardín de Botánico de Barcelona: la de los barrios de barracas. Aquí se dibuja un mapa sobre otro mapa, como el que se traza en el Diario entrelíneas, con Berlín, la ciudad sin centro, como escenario de fisuras y muros entre los habitantes de Este y el Oeste, que aún hoy se mantienen invisibles.

Shaday Larios (Mexico City, 1978) is an objectologist. She holds a PhD in Performing Arts from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Guanajuato (Mexico), and founded the object theater group Microscopía Teatro in 2004. She is dedicated to the research-creation of "documentary object theater" with her partner Jomi Oligor, from Navarra, with whom she directs the company Oligor and Microscopía. She is a co-founder, along with the aforementioned Jomi and Xavi Bobés, of the collective El Solar. Agency of Object Detectives, dedicated to exploring the links between neighborhood, memory, scene, and everyday objects. She works as a teacher and lecturer on objectuality and scene at multiple institutions. Additionally, she writes articles for various periodicals on contemporary poetics of animated form theater. With the text Post-Catastrophe Scenarios: Scenic Philosophy of Disaster, she won the International Theatrical Essay Prize 2010, convened by the National Institute of Fine Arts through CITRU, in coordination with Paso de Gato and Artez. She is the author of the book The Living Objects. Stages of Unruly Matter (Paso de Gato, 2018)
