She was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) on January 23, 1975. She holds a degree in Communication Sciences from the Catholic University and is a film screenwriter by the School of Cinema. After selling 100,000 books, Cecilia Curbelo has become the most successful young adult writer in Uruguay. Her books have a legion of loyal readers that has spread throughout Latin America and Spain. In 2012, she received the Bartolomé Hidalgo Award, Revelation category. Since then, and for four consecutive years, she has also received the Golden Book Award, for the best-selling book.
